San Clemente Inn

Budget resort. Everything is a little dated and not the best but overall great for the $$. Set your expectations right and you’ll likely be happy. Lots of families here. Hot tub was crowded but hot and nice. Gym was decent. Pool felt nice. Bed in room was decently comfortable. Close to a really cool beach. You can drive there and park on the hill for free to avoid paying for beach parking (or walk but it’s a long uphill walk back to the hotel). It seems like most rooms do NOT have a view. Overall had a great time.

This is our second time staying at this hotel. A very good family hotel! Clean, cozy, and quiet. The rooms are comfortable, everything is neat and well thought out. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. The atmosphere is warm and homely—you feel like you're visiting friends. A great place to relax with your family, we will definitely be back again! Close to the lagoon beach, and everything in the room is thought out to the smallest detail for a complete family vacation!

I dropped off a friend and checked the place out before I left. Excellent and understanding night staff. (Hit the handicap door button to get in the automatic door at night) Lobby is nice and spacious (the 2 chairs by the stairs are good for short legs) and overlooks the pool and mini-golf setup. You can check out racquets for the tennis courts and paddle for the pickleball courts, the pickleball courts share space with the basketball backboard. The claim is a 10 minute walk to the beach and since this is off Ave. Calafia, I strongly suspect there's some uphill involved, since I didn't walk it, I don't know if there's stairs or if it's wheelchair accessible. I used to know someone who lived by the pedestrian bridge. Not sure you can see the beach from the property. The rooms are older but mostly well maintained and relatively spacious. I was told they had a two bedroom suite, but the second bed was open to the main living area. They did have a nice sized balcony that overlooked the facility walkways but the sliding door latch needed fixing/replacement and you had to stick your finger in the gap to pull the latch catch all the way open. There was a dishwasher and a microwave by the sink. You can hear the sound of the 5 freeway outside (it's literally one turn after you get off the freeway and your there, it's the facility downhill of the tennis courts, not the one on the corner) but you can pretend it's the ocean or a river. It's not obnoxious. Overall it seems nice, with attentive staff, and a good value.

We drove in all the way from Seattle WA. Checked in Jan 14th by their front desk agent Rose. She was a delight and very helpful. The property and rooms were great! Clean and very well kept. Did my first solo trip ever staying at this hotel. The property has its charm and was generally laid back. Rooms were clean and bed was comfy! I wish I had the time to try the restaurant on site and the jacuzzi. The property is a short walk to the beach which was a big thing for me. Dining & shops were a bit far out but were accessible by bus that took me into town. I would def recommend this spot for a solo trip or for couples. Dana Point near by was also beautiful and accessible by the bus. Definitely worth the visit. Lana checked me in at front desk, she was very helpful & friendly. :)

It rained our whole stay so we didn't get to take advantage of all the activities offered. The Inn is close to the interstate, beach and town. Our family really enjoyed our stay. The food at the on-site restaurant was delicious! The staff was friendly, and helpful. I loved how they kept us update on what was happening via text. They responded very quickly to any questions or issues we asked via the same text. I would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed at this Inn for a weekend in So Cal while attending a HS reunion. It's not in the heart of San Clemente, but it's easy enough to walk or bike up to the pier area. We opted for the largest suite, which provided ample space, a kitchenette, and a comprehensive set of cooking and dining utensils. You could easily spend a week there. It was excellent value for the money!

Our family of 5 had a great stay! Amazing amenities (pool, lawn games, game room, bbq just to name a few). We enjoyed the beach that was in walking distance and the 8 minute drive to San Clemente pier. We are already thinking about when we want to come back!
